The following are examples of the documentation or multimedia I developed during my pursuit of the Education Specialist (Ed.S.) Career & Technical Education program at the University of Wisconshin-Stout:
Field Study
Coursework Documentation
The 15 different courses in the program I completed required extensive research, writing and developing multimedia, all leading up to the completion and defense of my field study. The following ares just a few examples:
- One of the final assignments in this course was to formulate a philosophy of education reflective of held beliefs about Career and Technical Education: Philosophy of Career and Technical Education (CTE 502, 2013).
- One activity in this course was to research the history of one career and technical discipline area (e.g., technology education, business education, marketing education, health occupations education, family and consumer sciences education, etc.) and integrate career and technical education legislation that has impacted the program area: History and Legislation of Technology Education (CTE 502, 2013).
- The final project for this course required a team to prepare a Training Plan Proposal. My main role included the actual development of the team's final document: The Home Depot #4935 Forklift Training Plan Proposal (TRHRD 560, 2013)
- Along with the final project document, the team was to also submit a PowerPoint presentation. My main role included the actual development of the PowerPoint slideshow: Forklift Training Plan Proposal Presentation (TRHRD 560, 2013)
- An activity in this course was to interview an instructor to learn how their career program is organized. To get an explanation of the major components of the program, course of study including goals and objectives, pre-requisite(s), needs analysis and references: Context for Curriculum (CTE 638, 2014).
- This activity involved identifying and defending a curriculum model: Curriculum Philosophy and Model (CTE 638, 2014).
- For this objective, we were to develop a Professional Development Plan that consists of a completed program plan sheet and a plan, which addresses the purpose, and written components of a professional development process.(CTE 708, 2014).
- For this objective, we were to identify, refine, research, analyze and report on an issue in career and technical education and create a presentation: Supply and Demand of Certified Emergency Management Personnel in Illinois: How is this Addressed by Career and Technical Education? (CTE 708, 2014)
