- The Chief of Reserves is the highest-ranking volunteer in the unit and assumes command in the absence of the Commander (full-time Deputy Sheriff).
- Primary duties include reviewing, coordinating, and assigning details and activities to the Deputy Chief of Operations and Deputy Chief of Training, and coordinate the response to emergency call-outs.
- Serve as first line leader of the administrative and logistical officers that include the Unit Secretary, Communications Officer, Public Information Officer, Transportation Officer, Medical Officer, and Quartermaster.
- Enforcement of unit and department policies, regulations and guidelines is a major responsibility.

Training Officer (Lieutenant)
- Develop, evaluate, coordinate, facilitate, administrate and conduct training for new recruits and all other unit members.
- Developed training for the Command Officer Management and Basic Administrative Training (COMBAT) Course for the unit's Command Officers.
- Arranged and/or conducted refresher training in various subjects for all unit members and provide concurrent training for the unit.
- Certified as a Monadnock Expandable Baton Instructor-Trainer (train-the-trainer), Monadnock PR-24 Instructor and Monadnock Defensive Tactics System Instructor.
