I'll be honest. I sort of "fell-into" technical writing. At the time I began writing as a career there were very few formal technical writing programs at the higher education level. I had the usual writing-related classes in high school and during my associate and undergraduate work, but I hadn't started out to be a Technical Writer. As I progressed through my career, I took advantage of training offered by employers and outside institutions for both personal and professional growth.
